Η Ομοσπονδία Θεσσαλικών συλλόγων Οντάριο πιστεύει στο όραμά της. Όλες οι εκδηλώσεις είναι δείγμα σκληρής δουλειάς και αφοσίωσης του προέδρου και του συμβουλίου του.
Οι σύλλογοι που απαρτίζουν την Ομοσπονδία, το Φθινόπωρο κάθε χρόνο κάνουν, τους δικούς τους, ετήσιους χορούς. Αυτοί οι χοροί πάντα έχουν επιτυχία, και ο πρόεδρος μαζί με το συμβούλιό του, πάντα τούς τιμούν με την παρουσία τους, έτσι κάνοντας τους δεσμούς ποιο δυνατούς. Εμείς χειροκροτούμε την προσπάθειά τους, που συνεχώς διασκεδάζουν τον κόσμο.
The Thessalon Federation of Ontario believes in its vision. All events that take place are a sign of hard work and dedication of the president and the Board of Directors. The associations that make up the Federation, hold their own annual dances usually in the fall. These dances are always successful, and the president and the board members always honor them with their presence, thus making the bonds between the associations and the Federation strong. Ελληνο-Καναδικοί αγώνες- Η Ομοσπονδία υποστήριξε τους Ελληνο-Καναδικούς αγώνες, τούς οποίους οργάνωσε ο Θεσσαλός γιατρός Φώτης Καραντώνης, παιδί δεύτερης γενιάς. Πάνω από 400 παιδιά έδωσαν το παρών τους, και συμμετείχαν σε διάφορα αθλήματα.

Θεσσαλική Βραδιά- Και πάλι η Ομοσπονδία οργάνωσε τη Θεσσαλική βραδιά, οπού για άλλη μια φορά είχε μεγάλη επιτυχία μαζί με όλα τα μέλη των συλλόγων Θεσσαλίας, όλη νύχτα διασκεδάζοντας, με καλό φαγητό και μουσική.
Ποντιακή Γενοκτονία- Ο πρόεδρος Νικηφόρος Λαμπίρης καλεσμένος από την Ποντιακή Αδελφότητα αντιπροσώπευσε την Ομοσπονδία, στις εκδηλώσεις τους, και κατέθεσε στεφάνη στο μνημείο της γενοκτονίας

Η Ιστορία του Ελληνικού τραγουδιού, από το δημοτικό έως το Μίκη Θεοδωράκη.
Η Ομοσπονδία σε συνεργασία με την Παμμακεδονική Ένωση υπό την αιγίδα της Ελληνικής κοινότητας, συνπαρουσίασε την Ιστορία του Ελληνικού τραγουδιού. Το συγκρότημα ΧΙ-JAZZ μια ομάδα ταλαντούχων νεαρών, νεοφερμένοι μετανάστες, ταξίδεψαν τους παρευρισκόμενους, 200 χρόνια πίσω, σε όλα τα μέρη τις Ελλάδος τραγουδώντας όλα τα είδη τραγουδιού έως το Μίκη Θεοδωράκη. Η επιτυχία ήταν τόσο τεράστια, που υπάρχει ζήτηση για συνέχεια.

Παρέλαση 25ης Μαρτίου και εορταστικές εκδηλώσεις- Η Ομοσπονδία συμμετείχε και πάλι στις εορταστικές εκδηλώσεις του Queen’s Park, επαρχιακό κοινοβούλιο. Ο πρόεδρος κ Νικηφόρος Λαμπίρης με μέλη του συμβουλίου και δύο μέλη του χορευτικού «Αρχόντισσες» ντυμένες παραδοσιακά, αντιπροσώπευσαν την Ομοσπονδία. Επίσης η Ομοσπονδία συμμετείχε στην ετήσια παρέλαση 25ης Μαρτίου κι ακολούθησε το καθιερωμένο γεύμα στους συμμετέχοντες.

Απόκριες – Όπως κάθε χρόνο, για τις αποκριές, μέλη, γνωστοί και φίλοι, συναντήθηκαν σε Θεσσαλική ταβέρνα, όπου απόλαυσαν καλό φαγητό, συζήτηση και πολύ γέλιο.

Ετήσιος χορός – στο Parkview Manor
Ο χορός και πάλι είχε τεράστια επιτυχία, έσπασε ρεκόρ από κάθε προηγούμενη φορά. Οι «Αρχόντισσες» παρουσίασαν πλούσιο χορευτικό πρόγραμμα, υπό την καθοδήγηση της Κας. Μαίρη Ζάικου. Επίσης, για πρώτη φορά, κάναν την πρώτη τους εμφάνιση τα μικρά παιδιά του χορευτικού συλλόγου Καρδίτσας «Ο Καραϊσκάκης». Για πρώτη φορά στο χορό μας, έκανε εμφάνιση ο θάλαμος φωτογράφησης, που αναδείχτηκε πολύ δημοφιλής.

Πρόσκληση προξενείου-Ο πρόεδρος κ Νικηφόρος Λαμπίρης και το συμβούλιό του, καλέστηκαν από το γενικό πρόξενο κ. Αλέξανδρο Ιωαννίδη σε παρακολουθήστε δείπνο προς τιμή της κυρίας Έλενας Γκουντουρά, υπουργού τουρισμού της Ελλάδος.

Αρτοκλασία – Η Ομοσπονδία έκανε δέηση αρτοκλασίας για την απελευθέρωση της Θεσσαλίας το 1881 από τον Οθωμανικό ζυγό. Ακολούθησε καφές και γλυκύσματα στην αίθουσα της εκκλησίας.
Συνέλευση και Εκλογές προέδρου- Τα μέλη συζήτησαν τα διάφορα θέματα, και μετά έγιναν εκλογές όπου τα μέλη της Ομοσπονδίας ομόφωνα εκλέξανε πρόεδρο τον κ Νικηφόρο Λαμπίρη για 2η θητεία.

Παρέλαση- Η Ομοσπονδία συμμετείχε στην ετήσια παρέλαση της 28ης Οκτωβρίου, και μετά παρέθεσε το καθιερωμένο γεύμα για τους συμμετέχοντες.
Αρχόντισσες – Το παραδοσιακό χορευτικό συγκρότημα «Αρχόντισσες» υποδέχτηκε την καινούργια, χοροδιδάσκαλο, κα. Μαίρη Ζάικος, η οποία έχει 30 χρόνια υπηρεσία στα χορευτικά της κοινότητας,

Παγκόσμιο συνέδριο– Ο πρόεδρος κ. Νικηφόρος Λαμπίρης με μερικούς συμβούλους αντιπροσωπεύσαν την Ομοσπονδία στο τριήμερο παγκόσμιο συνέδριο/αντάμωμα συνομοσπονδιών Θεσσαλών στη Τσαγκαράδα Πηλίου.

Θεσσαλική Βραδιά – Η Ομοσπονδία οργάνωσε την πρώτη της Θεσσαλική βραδιά όπου σημείωσε μεγάλη επιτυχία, και το συμβούλιο ψήφησε να καθιερωθεί ετήσιος θεσμός.
Ποντιακή Γενοκτονία- Ο πρόεδρος κ Νικηφόρος Λαμπίρης, αντιπροσώπευσε την Ομοσπονδία στις εκδηλώσεις γενοκτονίας των Ποντίων, όπου κατέθεσε στεφάνη στο μνημείο γενοκτονίας.
Εκδρομή – Η ετήσια εκδρομή μας φέτος μας πήγε στην πρωτεύουσα του Καναδά, όπου είδαν το κοινοβούλιο, νομισματοκοπείο κ.α. Στη συνέχεια μετέβησαν στο Μόντρεαλ όπου τους φιλοξένησαν οι Θεσσαλοί του Μόντρεαλ στο Θεσσαλικό σπίτι με φαγητό και μουσική.

Σεμινάριο – Η Ομοσπονδία Θεσσαλικών συλλόγων σε συνεργασία με την Παμμακεδονική Ένωση, παρουσίασαν σεμινάριο οπού ο γενικός πρόξενος Ελλάδος κ Αλέξανδρος Ιωαννίδης μίλησε για προξενικά θέματα που αφοράν την ομογένεια, και ο καρδιολόγος γιατρός Πάνος Φουντάς μίλησε για θέματα υγείας.

Ετήσια παρέλαση και εορταστικές εκδηλώσεις
Η Ομοσπονδία συμμετείχε στις εορταστικές εκδηλώσεις τις ανεξαρτησίας της Ελλάδος από τον Οθωμανικό ζυγό στο κτήριο του Ελληνικού προξενείου. Ο πρόεδρός μας κ. Νικηφόρος Λαμπίρης επίσης έλαβε πρόσκληση και πήρε μέρος σε εορταστικές εκδηλώσεις στο επαρχιακό κοινοβούλιο Οντάριο το Queen’s Park, συνοδευόμενος από μέλη του χορευτικού συγκροτήματος «Αρχόντισσες». Το χορευτικό «Αρχόντισσες» επίσης έλαβε μέρος και στις εορταστικές εκδηλώσεις της Ελληνικής κοινότητας. Η ετήσια συμμέτοχή στην παρέλαση της 25ης Μαρτίου σημειώθηκε με μεγάλη επιτυχία, και μετρά ακολούθησε γεύμα σε όλους τους συμμετέχοντες.

Ετήσιος χορός μετά φαγητού – στο Parkview Manor
Ο ετήσιος χορό μας, που γίνεται πάντα το 3ο Σάββατο του Ιανουαρίου, είχε πάνω από 500 άτομα. Μας τίμησε με την παρουσία του, συνοδευόμενος από τη σύζυγό του, ο πρόεδρος της παγκόσμιας συνομοσπονδίας Θεσσαλών κ. Γιώργος Βόμπρας από το Γκυτσερλό της Γερμανίας. Επίσης μας τίμησαν με την παρουσία τους, ο γενικός πρόξενος Ελλάδος στο Τορόντο κ Αλέξανδρος Ιωαννίδης με τη συζυγό του, καθώς επίσης ο πρόεδρος της Ελληνικής κοινότητας Τορόντο κ Αντώνης Αρτεμάκης και ο αντιπρόσωπος Αρχιεπισκοπής πάτερ Ιγνάτιος Δελής.

Παρέλαση 28η Οκτωβρίου-Η Ομοσπονδία συμμετείχε στην ετήσια παρέλαση τις 28ης Οκτωβρίου με πάρα πολλούς συμμετέχοντες. Επίσης είχε την τιμή να φιλοξενήσει το χορευτικό συγκρότημα Πετριλιωτών από την Ελλάδα. Όπως το έχει παράδωση, η Ομοσπονδία παρέθεσε γεύμα στους συμμετέχοντες.

Εκδρομή-Η Ομοσπονδία έκανε την τριήμερη ετήσια εκδρομή στο Μόντρεαλ και την πόλη του Κεμπέκ και ξενάγηση των αξιοθέατων.

Γεύμα τιμής– Η Ομοσπονδία Θεσσαλικών συλλόγων παρέθεσε γεύμα φόρου τιμής προς τον απερχόμενο πρόεδρο κ. Γιώργο Πορνάρα για τη σκληρή δουλειά και αφοσίωση στην Ομοσπονδία για τρείς συνεχόμενες θητείες.

Έκτακτες εκλογές για καινούργιο πρόεδρο (λόγω παραίτησης του προέδρου Γεωργίου Πορνάρα ). Ο κύριος Νικηφόρος Λαμπίρης εκλέγει πρόεδρος ομόφωνα.
Ετήσια παρέλαση Η Ομοσπονδία έλαβε μέρος στην ετήσια παρέλαση της 25ης Μαρτίου 2015, γιορτάζοντας την ανεξαρτησία της Ελλάδος από τον Οθωμανικό ζυγό. Είχαμε μεγάλο αριθμό συμμετεχόντων, και μετά την παρέλαση η Ομοσπονδία παρέθεσε γεύμα στους συμμετέχοντες.

GoFundMe campaign – Update
In early October 2020, we made a decision to run a GoFundMe campaign to help our fellow countrymen due to the severe damage caused by flooding from the storm Ianos.
We would like to thank everyone for their support. The campaign ended December 31, 2020. We raised $8155.00. We have been in contact with the Red Cross and have sent funds directly to them. We expect to hear from them in the very near future with information as to how many families they were able to help.

The Thessalon Federation of Ontario celebrates 6o years of Thessalian tradition and culture. We will be showcasing our presidents as part of this celebration on our facebook page as well as written detailed history of the of the organization.

Our organization upon hearing of the devastation that struck our homeland, Thessalia, immediately organized a fundraising event via GoFundMe. We were able to raise $8155.00. We thank everyone who supported us and generously donated to such a worthy cause. We are in touch with the Red Cross in Greece and will keep you informed upon further details

Lockdown came into effect due to the Covid 19 Pandemic. As such our organization will not be hosting any events until further notice. We look forward to seeing you once this pandemic is over.

Our annual dance once again took place at Parkview Manor despite a winter storm for the 3rd straight year in a row. Our members, family and friends enjoyed entertainment by Seizmos Entertainment, our annual tradition of tsipouro and pites and a fantastic show from our dance group, the Arhondises. The photobooth that night was very busy and the people who were too tired of dancing were entertained by our slideshow of photos old and new. We would like to thank all who came out in the very bad winter storm!

The dance group, Arhondises together with the President and members of the Board planned to go Christmas Caroling. Unfortunately, due to bad weather conditions this year, we had to cancel.

The Annual General Meeting took place at the Don Montgomery Community Centre. The president, Thelma Mantziouras welcomed everyone and thanked all who attended. Then proceeded with the general business of the Federation. The members had a chance to ask questions and make suggestions and comments. The meeting was adjourned approximately 2 hours later.

We had our 2nd annual picnic (2018 was cancelled due to the downpour of rain), this picnic was just started up again after being stopped for many years. The Thessalon Federation gave out pork and chicken souvlaki sticks, water and fruit to all who attended. There was a water park for kids to play as well as a playground. There were games and prizes given out. The water balloon fight I believe was the most popular! I would like to thank all our members for their kind donations in the form of books, food, drinks, ice etc…. Thank you!

Our annual trip this year took place as a one-day trip to Buffalo for their annual Greek Festival. We had a full bus load of people who enjoyed the trip on the bus of which they were treated to pites, koulourakia, sweets, etc.. there and back. They also enjoyed a stop at Magnotta Wines, where they were given a tour of the winery and a chance to purchase wines of their choice. We also had a chance to stop at the Outlets to do some shopping! The final destination was the Greek Buffalo Festival of which everyone enjoyed the three to four stations of greek music and dance and the variety of food and of course a tour of the church. The bus ride back was also filled with singing! A fantastic day and a fabulous time was had by all!

We held our annual Thessaliki Vradia at St. John’s Greek Orthodox Church and entertained by DJ Victor Zaikos. This event is one that we hold solely for our members and the association members to thank them for their constant support.

We held our annual Easter Egg Hunt at Extreme Fun. This was quite a successful event, children ages one to twelve enjoyed the food, chocolates and of course the fun! Thank you all for attending. We also would like to thank Empire Foods for their generous donation that made this event happen.

The Thessalon Federation of Ontario paraded with great pride and honour at the annual parade. We had over 25 people in attendance. After the parade the Federation luncheoned at the Blackhorn Restaurant. We thank all our members, family and friends who join us year after year and show their support!

Our annual dance was held at Parkview Manor. This dance marked the change over of presidents. Nikiforos Lampiris officially handed over the Presidency to Thelma Mantziouras. The air was filled with excitement and anticipation of our traditional parade of song, dance and the kerasmata of Thessalian tsipouro and pites. Needless to say that it was a success and people had a marvellous time. We were entertained by Peter Bexis and the Toronto Band as well as our own dance group, the Arhondises.

Our Annual General Meeting was held on the 18th of November 2018. There were approximately 100 people in attendance. This year was also an election year for a new president. The room was full of excitement and energy. The results of the elections and annual meeting was that Mrs. Thelma Mantziouras was nominated and unanimously elected President. In addition to the election there were amendments made to the constitution.

Pic-Nic-The Thessalon Federation is organizing a picnic in celebration of Canada’s 150th birthday on Sunday, July 16 2017. Please join us at Morningside Park, Area 1. We will be providing souvlakia sticks, hamburgers, pop and water. There is no charge for entrance to the park or parking.

Greek- Canadian games-The Federation supported the Greek Canadian Games, which is headed by our very own Thessalian, Dr. Fotis Karantonis. The games were extremely successfully with participants in upwards of 400. We congratulate Dr. Karantonis and his team for this magnificent experience.
The Thessalon Federation of Ontario believes in upholding its Mission statement. The events of the years prior are proof of the hard working and dedicated President and its board members.
Our Member Associations (syllogi) hold their own annual dance during the fall of every year. These dances are very well attended, which includes the attendance of the President and the board members of the Federation, making ties with our member associations stronger. We applaud the efforts our syllogi make in continuously providing entertainment and encouraging participation of all Hellenes.

Annual Thessaliki Vradia – Once again we had a very successful evening with our member associations. We enjoyed a night of great music and great food.
Pontian Genocide – The president Nikiforos Lampiris once was invited by the Pontian Brotherhood to attend the genocide festivities, and on behalf of the federation he lay a wreath.

The History of Music – In collaboration with the Greek Community and the Pan-Macedonian Association enjoyed a night of music history. This included the exquisite talents of the group xi-jazz. This talented group of musicians took our hearts through a memorable journey from the very early songs of the demotika era right up to the early 1970’s music of Mikis Theodorakis.

Greek Independence Day Parade festivities -The Federation participated at the Festivities at Queen’s Park once again this year. The President, Mr. Nikiforos Lampiris along with two of our dancers and members of the Board represented Thessalia in full traditional costume.
The Federation again participated in the Annual March 25th Parade.

Apokries/Carnival – Again we had a get together of friends at the Greek Grill, where we enjoyed good food, great conversation and a lot of laughter.

Annual Dinner Dance – Parkview Manor
Again this year we had a record number of people in attendance. We had our “Archondises” perform as well as the younger dance group from the syllogo Karditsa “O Karaiskakis”. Our added attractions included a photo booth which was extremely popular with the young and old.

Honour dinner – The President and his board members were invited from the General Consulate to attend a dinner in honour of Mrs. Elena Gountourou, the Minister of Tourism from Greece.

Artoklasia – Celebrating the Independence of Thessalia from the Ottoman Empire 1881. This was followed by coffee and dessert in the church hall.
General assembly and elections for President –The members of the federation discussed various topics regarding the federation, then afterwards unanimously Mr. Nikiforos Lampiris, was confirmed for a second term.

Parade – we participated in the Annual OXI Parade. The Federation participated in full force in the annual parade followed by the traditional luncheon. We had the honour of the Petrilioton Dance group from Greece participating in the parade this year in traditional costume.
Archondises – The traditional dance group underwent a change in dance instructors. The federation proudly announces Mrs. Mary Zaikos as the new dance instructor. Mary’s resume is long and award winning, which makes her a great candidate for this job. We welcome Mary to the Thessalon Federation.

The International Pan-Thessalian Association General Meeting, Thessalia, Greece – Mr. Nikiforos Lampiris, our President, along with some of the Board members represented our Federation at the Annual General Meeting in Tsagarada, Pelion.

Thessaliki Vradia – The Federation held its first Thessaliki Vradia. This was such a huge success that it has been voted in as an annual event.
Trip – our annual trip to Ottawa and Montreal was a huge success. We had a bus full of people that were taken to see the sights of Ottawa and Montreal. In Montreal we were also the guests of the Montreal Thessalian society at their Thessaliko Spiti.
Pontian Genocide – The president Nikiforos Lampiris was invited by the Pontian Brotherhood, to participate to the genocide festivities, and on behalf of the federation he lay a wreath.

Seminars -The Thessalon Federation in collaboration with Pan-Macedonian Association held a seminar on Cardiac Health. Its guest speaker was Dr. Panos Fountas.
Mr. Alexandros Ioannidis – Discussed issues concerning Hellenes Abroad. The Seminar was such a huge success that there was standing room only.

Annual Parade and Festivities – The Federation participated in the festivities celebrating Greek Independence Day at the General Consulate’s office. Mr. Nikiforos Lampiris, our President, also attended the festivities at Queen’s Park along with a few of the Archondises dance group. The Federation’s dance group, “Archondises” were also invited to dance at the Greek Community’s festivities. The Federation participated in the Annual 25th of March 2016 and provided free lunch for all participants.

Apokries/Carnival – It has become a tradition for the Federation to go out for a celebratory dinner with friends and family. This year we dined at the Greek Grill.

Annual Dinner Dance – Parkview Manor – Our annual dance is always held in the 3rd week of January. This year we had over 500 people and our guest of honour was Mr. Giorgios Vombras, the President of the International Pan-Thessalian Federation. He was accompanied by his wife, Margit Vombras. He and his wife live in Gutserloy, Germany. We also had the honour of having our local dignitaries in attendance, Mr. Alexandros Ioannidis, General Consul to Toronto, accompanied by his wife, Mr. Antonis Artemakis, President of the Greek Community of Toronto and the representative from the Archiodese, Father Ignatios Delis.

Recognition Dinner – The Thessalon Federation held its first and only recognition dinner at the Palace Restaurant for its outgoing President, Mr. George Pornaras, for his dedication and hard work. Mr. Pornaras is the only President who served three consecutive terms.

Snap Elections for a new President – (resignation of President, Mr. George Pornaras) Mr. Nikiforos Lampiris was unanimously elected
Parade – we participated in the Annual Parade – March 25, 2015 –celebrating Greek Independence from the Ottoman Empire. We had a large number of participants parading. After the parade the federation provided lunch for all participants.
